About the role

As VP of Engineering, you'll lead and shape our engineering organization during a period of rapid growth. You'll be responsible for overall technical strategy, engineering excellence, and building high-performing teams that deliver impactful solutions. Working directly with the founding team, you'll play a crucial role in scaling our platform while maintaining our culture of innovation and empathy.

Key responsibilities

Provide technical and organizational leadership for our engineering teams across mobile and backend development

Define and execute technical strategy aligned with company goals and product vision

Build, mentor, and scale engineering teams across multiple locations

Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement

Establish engineering best practices, processes, and metrics

Drive architectural decisions that ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability

Collaborate with Product and Design teams to deliver exceptional user experiences

Oversee technical roadmap planning and execution

Lead technology selection and implementation of new systems

Manage engineering budget and resource allocation

Champion security, privacy, and compliance initiatives

Build relationships with external partners and represent the company at technical events

Qualifications

10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in senior engineering leadership roles
Strong technical background in mobile development (Android/iOS) and backend systems
Proven track record of building and leading distributed engineering teams
Experience scaling engineering organizations from early-stage to mature teams
Deep understanding of cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and modern architectural patterns
Strong background in agile methodologies and engineering processes
Experience with mobile app development lifecycles and app store requirements
Track record of successful project delivery in fast-paced environments
Excellence in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
Strong financial acumen and experience managing engineering budgets
Outstanding communication and leadership skills
Previous experience in health tech, wellness, or mental health sectors is a plus
Experience leading remote/distributed teams
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
